HE SUFFERED FOR SINNERS
죄인들을 위하여 고통받으심
[Rom. 5:8] But God commends His own love to us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
[2 Cor. 5:14] For the love of Christ constrains us because we have judged this, that One died for all, therefore all died.
[Luke 2:7] And she bore her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him [Jesus] in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger because there was no place for them in the inn.
[롬 5:8] 그러나 우리가 아직 죄인이었을 때에, 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 죽으심으로써, 하나님은 우리에 대한 자기의 사랑을 나타내셨습니다.
[고후 5:14] 그리스도의 사랑이 우리를 강권합니다. 우리가 단정하는 것은 한 사람이 모든 사람을 대신하여 죽으셨으므로, 모든 사람이 죽었다는 것입니다.
[눅 2:7] 마리아가 첫아들을 낳아 포대기에 싸서 구유에 뉘었다. 왜냐하면 여관에 그들이 머물 방이 없었기 때문이다.
Whenever the Holy Spirit touches me to consider how the Lord Jesus Christ died for me, a sinner, so that I could be free from the punishment of sin and have eternal life, I thank Him with tears for His grace.
성령께서 저로 주 예수 그리스도께서 죄인인 저를 위하여, 제가 죄의 형벌에서 자유롭게 되고 영원한 생명을 얻을 수 있도록 어떻게 죽으셨는지를 생각하도록 만지실 때마다, 저는 그분의 은혜로 인해 그분께 감사하여 눈물이 나옵니다.
What suffering my Lord endured on the cross!
주님께서 십자가에 견디신 그 고통은 어떠한 고통인지!
“O my Lord, how piteous You were to die on lonely Calvary for my sins!”
오, 나의 주님, 저의 죄들 때문에 외로운 갈보리에서 죽으신 당신은 얼마나 애처로운지!
The Lord Jesus was the God of glory in heaven. He was the Most Holy One.
주 예수님은 하늘에 계신 영광의 하나님이셨습니다. 그분은 홀로 가장 거룩하신 분이셨습니다.
He did not have to die and He could not die. But He had compassion for the sinners of the world.
그분은 죽을 필요도 없었고 죽을 수도 없었습니다. 그러나 그분은 세상의 죄인들을 향하여 긍휼을 가지고 계셨습니다.
He came into this sinful world and took the form of a man.
그는 이 죄악된 세상에 오셔서 인간의 형체를 취하셨습니다.
He stood in the position of a sinner and suffered the punishment which sinners deserve.
그는 죄인의 위치에 서셔서 죄인들이 받아야할 형벌을 받으셨습니다.
He died so that we may have life.
그는 우리가 생명을 얻을 수 있도록 죽으셨습니다.
What love is this!
이 어떠한 사랑인지
Sins were committed by us, the sinners.
죄들은 죄인인 우리가 저질렀습니다.
Evils were done by us, the evil doers.
악은 악행자인 우리가 행하였습니다.
But the punishment of sin, the suffering of hell, fell on the Lord Jesus Christ!
그러나 죄의 형벌, 지옥의 고통은 주 예수 그리스도께 넘어갔습니다.
What is this?
이것이 무엇입니까?
This is substitution, this is love, and this is grace.
이것은 대신한 것입니다, 이것이 사랑이고 이것이 은혜입니다.
O sinners, do you know that your sin has crucified the lovely Lord Jesus?
오 죄인들이여, 당신은 당신의 죄가 사랑스러운 주 예수님을 십자가에 못박았다는 것을 압니까?
I wish that you knew this and that through the love of the Lord Jesus, you would right now be moved to believe in this kind Savior.
저는 당신이 이것을 알고 주 예수님의 사랑을 통하여 당신이 지금 당장 감동받아 이 동정심 있는 구원자를 믿기를 원합니다.
When the Lord Jesus was incarnated into the world, He was born in a manger because there was no room for Him in the inn.
주 예수님께서 세상에 육체을 입고 오셨을 때, 그분은 말구유에서 태어나셨습니다. 왜냐하면 여관에 그분을 위한 방이 없었기 때문입니다.
How desolate and sad this is! But even today many people have no room for Christ in their hearts.
이것은 얼마나 쓸쓸하고 슬픈지! 그러나 오늘날까지도 많은 사람들은 그들의 마음 속에 그리스도를 위한 방이 없습니다.
The Bible records that after He was born, they wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger.
성경은 그분이 태어나신 후에 그들이 포대기로 그들을 싸서 그분은 구유에 눕혔다고 기록합니다.
How cold were the swaddling clothes! How hard was the manger!
포대기는 얼마나 차가웠는지! 구유는 얼마나 딱딱했는지!
Is this the portion an honorable guest from heaven deserves from the hand of the world?
이것이 하늘로부터 온 존경하는 손님이 세상으로부터 받아야만 하는 마땅한 몫입니까?
As the Most High Lord, He did not have to come into such a situation.
가장 높으신 주님으로서, 그분은 그런 상황으로 오실 필요가 없었습니다.
Since He loved you and me, He bore the suffering of this birth. Alas! Our sins afflicted Him.
그분이 당신과 저를 사랑하시므로, 그분은 이런 출생의 고통을 지셨습니다. 아! 우리의 죄들이 그분을 고통받게 했습니다.
